Inter Miami sign Casemiro through the 2027 MLS season

Inter Miami have signed Brazilian midfielder Casemiro as a free agent. His contract covers the 2027 MLS Sprint Season, with an option until June 2029.

The move follows Casemiro’s departure from Manchester United. He joins Miami after playing five matches for Brazil at the 2026 World Cup. His registration remains subject to the normal visa and league processes.

The free-agent move still requires visa clearance

Casemiro arrived as a free agent after his Manchester United agreement ended. His Inter Miami contract runs through the 2027 MLS Sprint Season.

The club acquired his MLS discovery priority from LA Galaxy. That transaction formed part of the league’s registration process.

Casemiro requires a P-1 visa and league registration before becoming eligible. Both steps form part of the completed transfer process.

The signed agreement confirms the move after earlier negotiations. The remaining work concerns registration and travel documentation.

Casemiro played five recent World Cup matches for Brazil

Casemiro started all five of Brazil’s matches at the 2026 World Cup. He scored in the round of thirty-two. He also recorded an assist in the following knockout round.

Those minutes matter because he joins during the MLS campaign. He does not arrive after a long period without competitive football. Recovery after the tournament will still influence his first selection.

Brazil used him in central midfield throughout the tournament. His goal and assist both came during the knockout rounds.

His national record now includes ninety-one senior appearances. He also won the Copa America in 2019. The three World Cup tournaments show a long period at international level.

His Madrid record contains 336 appearances, 31 goals and 29 assists. A loan season with Porto separated two periods at the club.

He joined Manchester United in 2022 and played 160 matches. His English record includes 26 goals, 14 assists and two domestic cups.

The move to Miami begins his first club spell in North America. His earlier senior clubs were Sao Paulo, Real Madrid, Porto and Manchester United.
